Easter Glory

I’ll not dare test His righteousness, I know I‘m less, greater is He

To ponder Him in likened trim, that He should dim to come for me

Though less than right, as black as night but in His sight I am made whole

Above He won the battle done the righteous Son made pure my soul

As the stars stay He holds in sway from night to day all of His sky

To think of me He bent on knee and built a tree that He might die

And at His side no blushing bride a sinner’s chide and guilt He bore

Oh sovereign hand just as You planned from stars to land firmament tore

That not in rage but as a cage You wrote a page that I can read

That as a king with peace You bring a song to sing of human need

Of truth and grace You light the place and face-to-face we find You soon

Of mercy shed dripped from Your head but from the dead You brought this tune

No need of fear though dark is here still light is near within Your palms

Through the thunder death pulls under, while waves plunder yet Your voice calms

Where waters soak You give Your cloak and like Your yoke so light and free

Where sin blotted where death plotted and dark trotted You’ve victory
